One of my favorite ways to make sure we don't forget to take what we need for our camping trips is Google spreadsheets. It has has saved me so much time. I created a camping list spreadsheet personalized for us based on lists I found online. At least one week before we pack I prepare my lists according to the weather, whether the kids are going too, location, ect.. Being able to see my lists from my phone or computer is very handy. I don't have to worry about keeping up with a paper. Here are samplings of what my camping lists looks like.

Camping lists
My second list is a to do list. I make a list of things that needs to be done on certain days before we leave.
Make sure theirs plenty of food for animals, all trash is taken out etc...
I like to have a meal plan ready as well. I will talk about camping/ hiking food choices on a later blog.

Lake Waccamaw
Lake Waccamaw State Park is one of our favorite places to visit. The park has 10 miles of hiking trails, 5 primitive campsites, picnic areas, and board walks. The hiking trails have some benches to view the lake and enjoy nature. This is a great place for bird watching. You may occasionally see a alligator. As long as you keep your distance and do not feed them you will be fine. Bald Eagles visit the park from time to time.
